Life Lessons: Letting go of Judgement

Years ago, I made a commitment to work on judgment—not just in how I saw others, but especially in how I judged myself. Let me tell you, this is a vulnerable topic and wasn’t an easy task or a simple switch I could just flip on or off. The more I practiced self-awareness, the more I began to see judgment for what it truly is: a reflection of my own fears, insecurities, and old patterns of conditioning. Judgment often isn’t rooted in reality but in our fears of not being enough and not meeting the expectations of others. I felt this to be 100% true within myself and knew I had to ask myself: why was I hiding behind the fear of what others might think? And… Why was I constantly seeking their approval, even when it didn’t align with my true self?

As I began to challenge these thoughts, I discovered the incredible power behind self-compassion. I started treating myself with the same kindness I would offer a close friend. I also made a conscious effort to surround myself with people who uplift and inspire me. This decision was HUGE for me, especially after coming from a past where I often played the fixer-upper among a sea of takers. Choosing to shift to a more positive inner circle of relationships provided me with the support and courage to stay true to my values, even when doubt tried its best to creep in.

What I realized was that I wasn’t judging others nearly as harshly as I was judging myself. It became clear that the more I worried about external opinions, the more I held myself back from fully embracing who I truly am. I wasn’t standing in my own power!

What I’ve discovered along the way is that the key isn’t to eliminate judgment from our journey; as humans, that would be an almost impossible task—speaking for myself here—but rather to learn how to rise above it. The less you care about external opinions, the more you’ll embrace what truly matters—your true self. We all have so much to offer the world, and our authenticity is our superpower.

Every step we take toward silencing the voices of judgment, both external and internal, is a step closer to living in alignment with our highest self. The journey to embracing who we truly are may not always be easy, but it’s one of the most rewarding paths we can walk. Don’t let the fear of judgment dim your light. The world needs the real you, with all of your unique gifts, your voice, and your heart. Keep rising above, keep shining, and know that your authenticity is your greatest strength.

What is WalkingOM?

What started as a simple idea during my spiritual awakening has grown into my mission and a key part of my life. In the early stages of my awakening, I felt excited to create deeper connections with others on a similar path. So, I started a Meetup group. I envisioned a space where people could not only enjoy the physical benefits of being in nature, but also engage in open-hearted conversations over coffee about life’s challenges and the magic that comes with newfound self-awareness. But I needed a name. A dear friend suggested “WalkingOM,” and it just clicked. The name resonated perfectly with my vision. Done and done! I loved it.

Over the years, WalkingOM has evolved into something much more personal, reflecting my growth and abilities as an intuitive and medium. It has become my mission and my website. To me, WalkingOM means embodying the essence of peace, unity, and universal consciousness with every step. It’s about living life with awareness of your connection to everything around you, being present in the moment, having an open heart and clear mind, and allowing your actions to reflect the deep inner peace and spiritual alignment that OM represents. One’s journey becomes a meditation in motion—honoring the sacred sound of the universe, the sound of OM. It resonates through every aspect of life. You become a beacon of light and love, inspiring others to find their own path to harmony, healing, and personal fulfillment. This is what I hope to achieve, not only in my own journey but also in being of service to others.

In the light of darkness

There is a powerful quote by Carl Jung that resonates deeply: “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” This profound truth stirs the soul, inviting us to reflect on our own awakening—a transformative experience we never forget. It is as if we were handed a pair of sacred lenses, revealing the hidden depths within our hearts.

When we awaken, we often seek refuge in the embrace of the light, yearning for the warmth of enlightenment as we journey back to our true selves. Yet, those who tread this path of transformation understand that true growth blossoms from the shadows within. To make the darkness conscious, as Jung so eloquently puts it, is to honor the full spectrum of our being.

In these moments of profound self-discovery, we unearth the keys to our true potential, even when we resist. The lessons I have gathered along this sacred path teach us to embrace every step of our journey with grace, recognizing the divine balance of light and darkness. Without recognizing both, we miss out not only on finding inner peace but also witness the radiant brilliance of our souls.

Poem: Destined Path

Golden is the light that encompasses my very being, unveiling the profound truth of my destined path. This journey seals wounds of generations past—a sacred duty stitched into the very fabric of one’s soul. I stand bare and unguarded; the chains dissolve, slipping from my fingertips like the softest sand, transforming into precious jewels. No longer bound by indecision, I ascend beyond the shadows, guided by ancestral codes. My lineage, once tangled in thorns, now flourishes with intent, mending history with a celebration of love.
