Lately, my meditations have felt like an uphill battle. The moment I sit down, my mind starts racing, my body gets restless, and honestly, I just don’t feel connected—to myself, to spirit, or to my own energy. But today, as I (once again) struggled through my meditation, my guides dropped a truth bomb on me: “You can’t just ground your energy and expect to feel connected. You need to center your energy too.” And in that moment, I just sat there like… oh. Well, crap. That makes sense. I literally laughed out loud at how simple the solution was.

You see, I always center my energy before working with clients. I make sure I’m fully present, focused, and aligned before every reading or session. But for myself? Nope. I just try to ground—imagining my energy rooting deep into the earth like a tree—hoping it will bring me back down. But lately? Turns out, I’ve been hanging out in the branches instead of settling into my core.

And if I’m feeling this way, I know I’m not the only one. Maybe you’ve been feeling untethered, anxious, or just off lately. Maybe you’ve heard of grounding but never thought about centering. Or maybe no one has ever even explained the difference. So, let’s talk about it shall we? What does centering your energy actually mean, why it’s so important, and how to do it in a way that actually makes a difference.

So… What Is Centering Your Energy?

If grounding is about connecting your energy to the earth, centering is about bringing it back to you. Grounding is like planting your feet firmly on the ground, anchoring yourself so you don’t feel scattered or all over the place. Centering, on the other hand, is about aligning with your own energy—bringing everything back to your core.

Think of it like this: Imagine a lantern inside your chest, right at your heart center, glowing softly. Or picture a warm, steady light in your solar plexus (just above your belly button), radiating outward. That’s your center—it’s where your energy lives, and when you connect with it, everything just clicks.

The moment I actually centered my energy today, I felt this huge shift. Like, seriously, Angelique? That was all you needed to do?? So simple. And sooo needed. Geez!!!

And here’s the thing—centering your energy isn’t just for psychic mediums or yoga classes. Everyone benefits from it. Because when your energy is centered, you feel clearer, calmer, and more present in your own life.

A Super Simple Way to Center Your Energy

Here’s what I did today (and what you can do too, anytime you’re feeling scattered):

1. Find a quiet place to sit – You can play meditation music if that helps.

2. Close your eyes and take three slow, deep breaths – Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth.

3. Visualize a lantern or warm light in your chest – If you need to, imagine lighting it up.

4. Let the light expand – With each breath, feel it grow brighter, filling your entire body, then the space around you.

5. Stay here for a moment – Notice how you feel. The shift happens fast.

That’s it. No complicated rituals, no pressure—just a moment to reconnect with yourself.

And let me tell you, it makes a huge difference.

Why Centering Your Energy Is So Important

Even if you’re not into all things “woo,” this is powerful. Here’s why it matters:

1. Emotional Stability

• Reduces overwhelm, anxiety, and that feeling of being all over the place.

• Helps you respond instead of reacting to stress.

• Gives you a sense of peace, even when life is chaotic.

2. Stronger Intuition & Clarity

• Clears mental clutter so you can actually hear your inner guidance.

• Helps you recognize what’s your energy vs. what you’re picking up from others.

• Strengthens your confidence in your own decisions.

3. A Deeper Spiritual Connection

• Makes it easier to connect with your spirit guides, higher self, or intuition.

• Reduces interference from scattered energy, so you receive clearer messages.

• Deepens meditation, prayer, or any spiritual practice you have.

4. Physical Well-Being

• Lowers stress, helping with tension, fatigue, and headaches.

• Supports better sleep (because your energy isn’t all over the place).

• Helps regulate your nervous system, so you feel steady.

5. Protection from Energetic Drain

• Keeps you from feeling drained by other people’s emotions or chaos.

• Strengthens your energetic boundaries, making it easier to stay in alignment.

• Creates a natural shield against negativity (without having to constantly cleanse your energy).

So, if you’ve been feeling untethered, anxious, or like you’re floating away, here’s your reminder—your center is always there, waiting for you.

You don’t have to search for it. You don’t have to “fix” anything. You just have to return to it.

And once you do? Everything feels different—in the best way possible. I hope this helps, and I’d love to hear from you! If this resonates with you or if you have your own way of visualizing and returning to center, leave a note. I’d love to hear from you.
